About the Book

Mia has many secrets. Some of which include living in a hotel, her parents hide immigrants at the hotel where they work at, and she dreams of being a writer. Mia is kind and loves serving the guests at the hotel. Sadly Mr. Yao, owner of the Calivista hotel, exploits them, taking advantage of the fact that Mia and family are recent immigrants.


Front Desk teaches about hope, not giving in to fear, strength, and kindness.It includes some biographical references about the author who wrote the book to tell her son about her life. The book is targeted to a world wide audience with the hope of inspiring readers to be empathetic and kind. The book jacket shows Mia at the front desk of the hotel, underneath the cover is plain red and yellow with only the title on the spine of the book.
